Meet Merrill Weber, an artist and creative instigator, located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Merrill has been painting and creating work since before she could walk. Her mother would tint whipped cream and encourage her to paint on the walls while taking a bath. Today, she still approaches everything she does with that same childlike enthusiasm.
Merrill is an award-winning artist who is currently represented by seven fine art galleries. Her work has been included in hundreds of exhibitions, and in museums and collections throughout the world. Her loose and impressionistic paintings capture snippets of life in creative ways, to share what is meaningful to her. Her creations have been described as imaginative, playful, happy and filled with energy and hope.
Merrill was voted Favorite Chester County Studio Tour Artist two years in a row. She was also honored to be included in the Art of the State exhibition at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, where her painting was one of 103 works chosen from 1,850 entries.
Her upcoming solo exhibition of new oil paintings, “INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN,” can be seen at the Hutson Gallery of the Chester County Art Association in West Chester, PA, November 11 – 30, 2021. The opening reception will be held on November 11, 2021.
Merrill’s art studio is in the Spring City Mill Studios building, a renovated knitting mill factory built in 1886, with high ceilings and beautiful northern light. Her studio is open by appointment.
She is founder and administrator of Facebook’s Southeastern Pennsylvania Artists, an online community of close to 500 artists helping artists.
A Florida native who currently resides with her husband in the Philadelphia area, she has two adult children, one of whom has classic autism.
Merrill enjoys engaging with her followers on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Follow along at @MerrillWeberArt. She also publishes a blog and monthly art newsletter titled, “The Good Life of An Artist.”
