LANCASTER, PA — As the echoes of the 2024 playoffs linger in the minds of Lancaster Stormers fans, anticipation builds for another exhilarating season of baseball. The Atlantic League’s announcement of the 2025 schedule marks the start of a new chapter, promising fans a summer filled with thrilling matchups and unforgettable moments at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
For the second consecutive year, the Stormers will kick off their 126-game journey on April 25, facing off against the Long Island Ducks. This initial away game sets the tone for a season that intertwines tradition with fresh rivalries. Following their time on Long Island and a series at York, the Stormers will light up their home field on May 2 against Gastonia, a much-anticipated event that heralds the arrival of springtime baseball in Lancaster.
Notably, the Stormers will commence the second half of the season at home against Southern Maryland on July 8, and they’ll wrap up the league calendar back in Lancaster with a pivotal series hosting the Long Island Ducks from September 16 to 18. This scheduling ensures that the Stormers have ample opportunity to establish their dominance on home turf and engage fans throughout the campaign.
The 2025 itinerary promises a diverse mix of home games spread across the season: 15 in May, 12 each in June and July, 15 in August, and nine in September. Fans can look forward to exhilarating showdowns, including the July 4th clash against the Charleston Dirty Birds, which is poised to be a patriotic spectacle of sport and celebration.
A highlight of the season will undoubtedly be the “War of the Roses,” featuring 21 fierce contests against the archrival York Revolution. With 12 games slated for the first half of the season and nine in the latter, the rivalry promises to be as heated as ever. The battle for the Community Cup could very well reach its zenith during a gripping six-game series scheduled for the first week of September, with each club hosting three games.
Breaking from recent years, the 2025 schedule eliminates four-game series, allowing the Stormers a consistent rest day every Monday. A notable addition is the first six-game series since Sugar Land’s days in the Atlantic League, to be played at Staten Island’s SIUH Community Park from May 27 through June 1. This series follows Lancaster’s only three-series homestand, inviting Long Island, Hagerstown, and York as visitors.
General Manager Mike Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to announce the 2025 Lancaster Stormers schedule, with Opening Day set for Friday, May 2nd! This year’s schedule is very well balanced and offers plenty of opportunities for fans to enjoy Stormers baseball. Fans should make sure to circle the July 4th weekend series on their calendars—it’s going to be a great series.”
As the countdown to opening day begins, Stormers fans can bask in the nostalgia of past seasons while eagerly anticipating new memories. The 2025 schedule is a testament to the team’s commitment to providing captivating baseball, nurturing community bonds, and keeping the spirit of the sport alive in Lancaster.
