PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a move that brings both nostalgia and excitement, Jacquelyn Rosen has been appointed this week as the Head Coach for the USA Open Tennis Team at the 2025 Maccabiah Games. Rosen, a former Maccabi athlete who competed in the 1997 and 2001 Maccabi Games, brings a wealth of experience and a deep love for Israel to her new role.

Rosen’s journey with Maccabi USA began as an athlete, but her connection to the organization has only grown stronger over the years. She credits her first Maccabi experience with inspiring her to make Aliyah in 1998, eventually representing Israel on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour. Reflecting on her new role, Rosen shared, “After retiring from the tour, I found my calling in coaching. To be able to coach Maccabi USA after competing in two Maccabi Games as a player is beyond a dream come true.” The recent events of October 7 have deepened her dedication and love for Israel, and she hopes to instill the same connection in her players.

Maccabi USA is currently seeking Jewish tennis players to represent the United States at the 2025 Maccabiah Games, set to take place from July 1-22, 2025, in Israel. The organization will field teams in multiple categories, including Open (18+), U16, U18, and Masters (35-80+). Interested athletes can apply through Maccabi USA, and the selected players will join a 1,300+ member strong USA Team, competing in what promises to be the largest Maccabiah in history.

Sivan (Krems) Sack, the USA Open Tennis Team Chair, emphasizes the significance of the event, stating, “The 2025 Maccabiah Games in Israel is a celebration of Jewish unity, resilience, and athletic achievement. The unique experience fosters solidarity within the global Jewish community and strengthens the connections between Jews worldwide and the state of Israel.”
