Gillen, currently an Auditor for the Pennsylvania Office of the Auditor General, has built a career dedicated to ensuring accountability and transparency in public finances. His experience includes rigorous financial analysis and audit management, alongside an in-depth understanding of governmental accounting practices.
A former Plymouth Township Councilmember and Chairperson, Gillen successfully managed a $21 million municipal budget while maintaining a balance between fiscal responsibility and community needs. During his tenure, he helped negotiate equitable labor agreements and consistently championed efficient resource allocation. Gillen’s public service extends to volunteerism with the Harmonville Fire Company, evidencing a strong commitment to collaboration and community engagement.
“As Chester County Controller I will continue my commitment by safeguarding taxpayer dollars, promoting accountability, and working to build trust in our local government,” Gillen stated in his campaign announcement, underscoring his readiness to serve the county’s residents.
Gillen also serves as an elected Auditor in Uwchlan Township, applying his extensive financial acumen to support transparency and responsible governance. A graduate of Albright College with a degree in Business Administration, Gillen resides in Chester County with his wife and two daughters, both of whom attend local public schools.
