KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — It’s time to tie those shoelaces tight as the Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run registration is now officially open! The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) is inviting runners and walkers from around the globe to join this historic event.

Participants can choose between an in-person 5-mile run or a 2-mile walk at the scenic Valley Forge National Historical Park on Sunday, April 21st. Alternatively, they can participate virtually from any location during National Park Week, running from April 21st – 28th.

Participation fees range from $45 – $60 and there’s also an opportunity to make personal donations. All proceeds will benefit the Valley Forge National Historical Park, so every step you take contributes to preserving our history.

Last year’s event saw over 1,200 participants from 22 U.S. states and two countries, setting record-breaking totals for race registration, donation, and sponsorship.

Race Director Kirsten Tallman draws parallels between the determination of the continental army and the modern-day runners and walkers taking on this challenge. She remarks, “The community pulling together in support of the park makes it just that much more special.”

Since 2006, the Rev Run has raised over $600,000 for the Park, funding infrastructure improvement projects and enhancing visitor experiences. Last year’s record donation of $70,000 is being used to improve signage, park furnishings, and the Once Upon a Nation storyteller programming.

The VFTCB first introduced the virtual component of the race in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Given its popularity, virtual participation will remain an option moving forward.

This year’s participants can look forward to finisher medals and a commemorative t-shirt. Cash prizes totaling $1,400 will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers of the in-person race.

Sponsorship opportunities start at $350, with upgraded digital sponsorship opportunities via the tourism board’s social media, website, and public relations efforts.

The Park continues to boost the region’s economy, generally contributing $36 million and several hundred jobs to the local economy.
