Your Route 82 Travel Plans: What You Need to Know About the Closure

Travel Restrictions

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has announced it will be conducting bridge construction on Route 82 (Manor Road) in Elverson Borough and West Nantmeal Township. This crucial infrastructure project necessitates the closure and detour of Route 82 between Chestnut Tree Road and Route 401 (Conestoga Road) from 9:00 AM on Friday, October 25, until 5:00 PM on Friday, November 1.

During this period, motorists will be directed to follow a detour via Route 82, Route 345 (Bulltown Road), and Route 401. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone, ensuring residents can reach their properties without issue. However, drivers are advised to exercise caution and anticipate potential delays due to slow-moving or halted traffic near the construction site. All planned activities are subject to weather conditions.

This project is being executed under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. Motorists are encouraged to stay informed about roadway conditions and potential traffic delays by visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center, a free service available 24 hours a day.
