Your Roadmap to Chester County’s Resurfacing: Navigate Delays and Drive Smoothly

Traffic Alert

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has unveiled plans for a comprehensive series of resurfacing projects scheduled to commence in Chester County. These projects, aimed at improving the quality and safety of state highways, will involve a sequence of lane closures to facilitate essential maintenance activities.

Beginning Sunday, November 10, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and extending from Monday, November 11, through Friday, November 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night, Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township will experience lane closures. These measures are necessary to accommodate the milling and paving operations between Church Road and Route 252 (Bear Hill Road).

Additionally, during the same week, Devon Road will undergo similar operations from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, affecting the stretch between Spruce Lane and Darby Road across Willistown, Easttown, and Tredyffrin townships. Daytime closures, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, will also occur on Homeville Road/Cream Road/Scroggy Road, Street Road/Township Road, and Route 896 (Newark Road) for base repairs in various townships, including Upper Oxford, Lower Oxford, and Oxford Borough.

Furthermore, Union School Road in Lower Oxford Township will experience milling on Thursday, November 14, and Friday, November 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These activities aim to repair, mill, and repave highways with new asphalt, enhancing road durability and providing a smoother ride for motorists.

Motorists are advised to anticipate potential delays and plan for additional travel time when navigating these areas. All construction schedules are contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
