Water Main Work to Disrupt Traffic in Chester County

Road Closed

EAST GOSHEN TWP, PA — Starting Monday, May 13, drivers in East Goshen Township, Chester County, should prepare for a week of potential delays as Aqua Pennsylvania begins crucial water main construction. The project, aimed at improving local water service infrastructure, will necessitate the closure of East Strasburg Road from Route 352 (Chester Road) to Spring House Lane, lasting until Monday, May 20.

To circumvent the construction zone, traffic will be rerouted along Route 352 (Chester Road), Route 3 (West Chester Pike), and Delchester Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. Although local access will be preserved up to the work area, the scheduled activities are expected to create significant backups and extend travel times for commuters and residents alike.

Aqua Pennsylvania, operating with a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, encourages motorists to plan for additional time when navigating through or around the affected zones. The construction’s completion is subject to weather conditions, further highlighting the need for flexibility and patience from the community during this period of infrastructure enhancement.
