Utility Work to Cause Lane Closures in Chester and Montgomery Counties

Traffic Advisory

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Motorists in Chester and Montgomery counties should prepare for a series of lane closures as PECO Energy undertakes utility construction on several state highways. The projects, set to improve essential services, will impact travel with scheduled lane restrictions across different locations.

In Chester County, drivers are alerted to an upcoming lane closure on Route 23 (Schuylkill Road) at the intersection with Rapps Dam Road in East Pikeland Township. This disruption is slated to begin on Thursday, May 2, and will extend through Friday, November 1, occurring from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays.

Montgomery County will witness similar restrictions. Starting Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 31, a section of Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Shearer Road in Worcester Township will see a weekday lane closure within the same hours. Adding to the disruptions, from Monday, May 6, through Friday, June 21, eastbound King Street between Route 100 and Manatawny Street in Pottstown Borough will be closed on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. A notable 24-hour closure is also scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, through Wednesday, May 15, during which eastbound traffic will be redirected via a designated detour route. Despite these closures, local access up to the work zones will be maintained.

The completion of these projects is weather-dependent. Motorists are encouraged to stay abreast of traffic updates and plan their commutes accordingly to minimize inconvenience during this period of essential improvements.
