Traffic Signal Construction Scheduled in West Goshen Township

Traffic Alert

WEST GOSHEN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming traffic signal construction aimed at improving travel and safety along the Route 3 (West Chester Pike)/East Gay Street/Route 3 (Market Street) corridor in West Goshen Township, Chester County.

From Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, a short-term lane closure will occur on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in both directions at the U.S. 202 South off-ramp. Motorists should anticipate backups and delays during these times.

The project involves a series of upgrades designed to enhance road safety and efficiency. These upgrades include reducing the number of travel lanes, upgrading pavement, and installing High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST). Additionally, one median break will be closed while extensions will be built at two others. New pavement markings, chevrons, and curve warning signs will be placed, and a new signalized intersection will be constructed at Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and the U.S. 202 South off-ramp.

The sections of the corridor that will see improvements are:

  • Route 3 (West Chester Pike) from Prospect Avenue to Morris Road
  • Route 3 (West Chester Pike) at the Concord Road intersection
  • Route 3 (West Chester Pike) at the U.S. 202 North ramp
  • Route 3 (West Chester Pike) at the Patrick Avenue intersection
  • Paoli Pike/East Gay Street westbound from Prospect Avenue to North Worthington Street
  • Route 3 (West Chester Pike)/East Gay Street westbound ramp and eastbound Market Street ramp to Paoli Pike
  • Route 3 (West Chester Pike) at the U.S. 202 South ramp
