Traffic Delays Expected for Stormwater Upgrades in Chester County

Lane closures

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for stormwater improvements that will cause traffic disruptions on Cedar Hollow Road and Embreeville Road.

From Monday, July 8, through Friday, July 12, Cedar Hollow Road will have a lane closure between Jacqueline Drive and West Central Avenue in Willistown Township for stormwater repair. Work will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.

Additionally, Embreeville Road will be closed weekdays from July 8 through July 19 between West Chester Road and Hazelwood Avenue in West Bradford and Caln townships. This closure, also scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, is for stormwater replacement. During these times, motorists are directed to use West Chester Road, Stouff Road/South Bailey Road, and Hazelwood Avenue as detours. Local access will be maintained.

Drivers should anticipate backups and delays and allow extra travel time when passing through these areas. The schedule may change depending on weather conditions.

Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, will oversee the project, which is funded entirely by state resources.

These improvements are part of an ongoing project to upgrade stormwater management facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
