WEST GOSHEN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the upcoming closure of a section of U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) in West Goshen Township for the replacement of the bridge superstructure on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike). This critical infrastructure project will take place nightly from November 4 through November 15, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, necessitating the closure of U.S. 322 in both directions between Phoenixville Pike and New Street.

During the closure, westbound motorists will be rerouted via the Paoli Pike Interchange, Gay Street, North High Street, Chestnut Street, Hannum Avenue, and Downingtown Pike. Eastbound drivers will follow a detour including Business U.S. 322, Hannum Avenue, N. New Street, Market Street, West Chester Pike, and a ramp to U.S. 322/U.S. 202 South.

This initiative follows the December 2023 closure of Route 100 and U.S. 322 after a vehicle impact caused significant structural damage. PennDOT had previously conducted temporary repairs to address debris from the incident. Commuters should anticipate delays and are advised to allocate additional travel time. As all operations are weather-dependent, staying informed via the MyChesCo Traffic Center is recommended for timely updates and traffic information.
