Traffic Advisory: Lane Closures on U.S. 322 for Upcoming Road Work in Chester County

PennDOT will be conducting road construction on a 2.87-mile section of U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) in East Bradford and West Goshen Townships, Chester County. The project includes safety improvements such as lane narrowing, signal replacement, shoulder construction for bicycles, and more. The aim is to enhance the safety and efficiency of the U.S. 322 corridor for motorists and bicyclists.

The work schedule and location are:

  • Monday, July 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Thursday, July 20, and Friday, July 21, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) in both directions between U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) and U.S. 202.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PennDOT stated that it is implementing a safety improvement project on the U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) corridor. The project includes various enhancements such as lane narrowing, shoulder construction for bicycles, and the installation of traffic signals and wrong way countermeasures. With the aim of enhancing safety and efficiency, the project spans from the U.S. 322 intersection with U.S. 202 and extends west.

Allan Myers of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100% federal funds. Construction on the project is expected to finish this winter.
