CHESTER COUNTY, PA — PennDOT has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap for resurfacing operations on various state highways in Chester County, with lane closures scheduled to usher in potential traffic slowdowns for commuters.
Starting on May 19 and continuing through May 23, specific highway sections will undergo resurfacing work during nighttime hours, impacting travel between critical points. Route 796 (Jennersville Road) in New London, Penn, and Londonderry townships, Route 340 (West Kings Highway) in West Caln Township, Wagontown Road in Valley Township, and Caln Road/Reeceville Road in Caln Township are among the targeted areas for milling and paving activities.
Motorists are strongly advised to plan accordingly and allow for additional travel time, as these construction activities are expected to lead to slowdowns along the affected routes. The success of these operations remains contingent upon favorable weather conditions throughout the week.
PennDOT’s focused efforts aim to revamp state highways by repairing, milling, and repaving them with fresh asphalt pavement. This strategic initiative not only seals the road surfaces but also enhances safety for drivers by providing a smoother and more secure driving experience.
