Road Work Alert: Lane Closures and Traffic Shifts Scheduled in Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery Counties

KING OF PRUSSIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that various construction activities will continue next week on several state highways under a $14.9 million project to improve stormwater facilities and drainage on more than 90 state highways across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Monday, August 14, through Friday, August 18, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure and traffic shift are scheduled on Route 611 (Easton Road) between Bristol Road and Kelly Road in Warrington Township for milling and paving.

Chester County

  • Monday, August 14, through Monday, August 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Byers Road will be closed weekdays between Graphite Mine Road and Township Line Road in Upper Uwchlan Township for storm pipe replacement. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Township Line Road, Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), and Graphite Mine Road.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, August 14, through Friday, August 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Allentown Road between Reinert Road and Route 63 (Old Forty Foot Road) in Towamencin Township for curb construction;
  • Monday, August 14, through Friday, August 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Haldeman Road between Red Fox Run and Brandon Lane in Lower Salford Township for paving;
  • Monday, August 14, through Friday, August 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Beidler Road between Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and Caley Road in Upper Merion Township for paving;
  • Monday, August 14, through Thursday, August 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Susquehanna Road between Westmont Avenue and Easton Road in Abington Township for storm pipe replacement; and
  • Wednesday, August 16, through Friday, August 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane shift is scheduled on Cheltenham Avenue between Paper Mill Road and Cromwell Road in Springfield Township for storm pipe replacement.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
