CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced maintenance activities next week on Route 82 (Creek Road) and Forge Road, which will affect traffic in Kennett and East Nottingham townships.
On Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 82 (Creek Road) will be closed between Old Kennett Road and East Hillendale Road in Kennett Township. The closure is for base repair work. Motorists will be directed to detour via East Hillendale Road and Old Kennett Road.
At the same time, Forge Road in East Nottingham Township will be closed for pipe replacement. The affected section is between Hopewell Road and Lees Bridge Road. Drivers will need to use Hopewell Road, Route 272 (West Christine Road), and Lees Bridge Road as alternate routes.
Local access will be maintained, but drivers should expect traffic backups and delays around the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. PennDOT advises motorists to allocate extra travel time when passing through these zones.
