Resurfacing Projects to Impact Bucks and Chester County Drivers

CHESTER & BUCKS COUNTIES, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures in Bucks and Chester counties as part of a larger road resurfacing initiative to repair and repave more than 200 miles of state highways in the Philadelphia region. Scheduled work will occur from Monday, March 17, through Friday, March 21, with extended closures in some areas.

Resurfacing work will focus on the following roads during weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM:

  • North Creek Road (between Glenloch Drive and Chesterville Road) in Franklin Township, Chester County.
  • Corby Road/Pennock Bridge Road (between Route 896 [Newark Road] and Route 841 [Wickerton Road]) in Franklin, New London, and Penn townships, Chester County.
  • Stricklersford Road (between Route 472 [Lewisville Road] and the London Britain Township Line) in Elk and Franklin townships, Chester County.
  • Route 926 (Street Road) (between Route 10 [Limestone Road] and Ewing Road) in Upper Oxford Township, Chester County.
  • Edenton Road/Edwing Road (between Route 896 [Newark Road] and Penn Township Line) in Upper Oxford and Londonderry townships, Chester County.
  • Route 896 (Newark Road) (between Homeville Road and Baltimore Pike) in Upper Oxford Township, Chester County.
  • Scroggy Road (between U.S. 1 [Kennett Oxford Bypass] and North Brookside Drive) in Lower Oxford Township, Chester County.
  • Route 213 (Maple Avenue/Bridgetown Pike) (between Bristol Road and Old Lincoln Highway) in Northampton, Middletown, and Lower Southampton townships, Bucks County. This section will remain under closure through Monday, March 31.

Traffic controls, including flaggers, will be in place to manage vehicle flow around the work zones. Motorists should plan for additional travel time and expect delays near the affected areas.

PennDOT noted that all resurfacing activities are weather dependent, and schedules may change as necessary. These projects aim to increase roadway safety and provide smoother driving conditions for travelers in both counties.
