Pipe Replacement to Close Newark Road in Chester County Next Week

traffic alert expect delays

WEST MARLBOROUGH, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that pipe replacement work will close Newark Road in West Marlborough Township, Chester County, next week.

The closure will occur on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Newark Road will be shut down between Church Road and the U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) Interchange. During this period, motorists should use Route 926 (Street Road), Route 82 (North Unionville Road), and U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) as detour routes.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone, but drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel due to anticipated backups and delays. All activities are weather dependent and may change if conditions do not permit safe operations.

This essential maintenance is part of PennDOT’s efforts to improve infrastructure and ensure road safety in the region.
