Parkesburg Borough Set for Traffic Delays Amid Utility Upgrades

traffic alert expect delays

PARKESBURG, PA — Pennsylvania American Water will initiate utility construction on two state highways in Parkesburg Borough, Chester County, starting Wednesday, March 6. The project, which is expected to cause traffic backups and delays, is part of the company’s commitment to improving water infrastructure in the region.

From Wednesday, March 6, through Monday, May 6, motorists can expect weekday lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Route 372 (1st Avenue) between Route 10 (Church Street) and West Street. There may also be work conducted during these hours on Saturdays, depending on progress and necessity.

Simultaneously, similar lane restrictions will be in place on Route 10 (Church Street) between Route 372 (1st Avenue) and Main Street. As with the 1st Avenue construction, work might extend into Saturdays.

Drivers are advised to plan for longer travel times when passing through these areas due to expected delays. Given that all scheduled activities are contingent on weather conditions, commuters should stay updated on potential changes to the construction schedule.

The project, to be executed under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, underscores Pennsylvania American Water’s ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and safety of water services in Chester County.
