TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a schedule for night work next week on U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County.
From Monday, January 8, through Friday, January 12, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place in both directions on U.S. 422 between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202. Additionally, during the same time period and hours, a single lane closure will be in place in both directions on N. Gulph Road between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.
These closures are necessary to allow the contractor to install protective shielding beneath the new bridge carrying the Turnpike over U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road. This is a crucial step in the construction of the center portion of the bridge, a significant component of the larger infrastructure improvement project.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic when approaching the area. The schedule for these works is, as always, dependent on the weather.
This project, executed under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s project to widen and improve the Turnpike and its bridges between mileposts 324-326.
