Major Route 896 Closure in Franklin Township: What You Need to Know About Upcoming Water Main Work

FRANKLIN TWP, PA — Aqua Pennsylvania has announced plans to begin water main construction on Route 896 (New London Road) in Franklin Township, Chester County, starting Monday, April 28. The project, aimed at upgrading vital infrastructure, will require a weekday road closure through June 30.

From April 28 to June 30, Route 896 will be closed weekdays between Gypsy Hill Road and Parsons Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this period, motorists will be detoured via Route 841 (Chesterville Road), Strickersville Road, and Appleton Road.

Local access will remain available for residents and businesses within the affected area. However, drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, as delays and congestion are anticipated.
