CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that maintenance crews will focus on repairing deteriorated pavement across Chester County due to this season’s frequent freeze-thaw cycles.
Specific work will take place on several state highways, including:
- U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) through Sadsbury, Valley, Caln, East Caln, and West Whiteland townships, as well as
- U.S. 202 in Tredyffrin, East Whiteland, and West Goshen townships.
Additional repairs are slated for roads such as:
- Chestnut Tree Road in Honeybrook Township,
- Hollow Road in West Vincent Township,
- Merlin Road in Charlestown Township, and
- Old Baltimore Pike in Lower Oxford Township.
Motorists are advised to expect travel restrictions and potential slowdowns near work zones. PennDOT reminds all drivers to slow down and stay focused when traveling through these areas, emphasizing safety for both workers and the public.
The department also encourages residents to report potholes through PennDOT’s Customer Care Center. “Drivers are reminded to slow down in the work zone and refrain from distracted driving to keep themselves and our workers safe,” PennDOT stated.
