CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that stormwater improvements are scheduled next week in Chester County. These activities are part of a broader effort to upgrade stormwater management facilities in the Philadelphia region.
Starting Monday, July 29, Hibernia Road will be closed 24/7 between Lafayette Road and Cedar Knoll Road in West Brandywine Township. During the closure, motorists are directed to detour via Cedar Knoll Road, Route 82 (Manor Road), and Lafayette Road. The road will reopen on Tuesday, July 30.
From Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 2, a lane closure will be in place on Devon State Road between Forest Hills Circle and Spencer Road in Eastown Township. This closure will be enforced daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Additionally, from Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 16, Route 401 (Conestoga Road) will be closed 24/7 between Fairview Road and Saint Andrews Drive in East Nantmeal and West Vincent townships. Motorists will be directed to use Fairview Road and Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) during this period.
Local access will remain open for all closures. However, drivers should expect significant traffic backups and delays around the work areas. PennDOT advises motorists to plan for extra travel time when navigating through these zones. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor for this project.
