Grants

ROYERSFORD, PA — Nearly $3.5 million in funding has been awarded to agencies across Chester, Montgomery, and Berks Counties through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), according to an announcement by State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks). This funding will support victim services, probation programs, and community-based initiatives within Senate District 44.

“This funding will be incredibly impactful across SD44 by ensuring all victims are supported and that our counties can continue to provide quality services necessary to improve outcomes for victims of all ages and to strengthen our probation and parole systems,” said Sen. Muth in a statement.

Chester County received significant allocations, including $563,844 for adult probation and parole services and an additional $331,681 for victim services via the Crime Victims’ Center. Funds were also directed to the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County and the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Montgomery County saw over $1.6 million distributed among various programs, including $738,315 for adult probation and parole staffing and $353,516 for the District Attorney’s Office to advance victim support initiatives. Additional funding was awarded to the Women’s Center of Montgomery County and Project Safe and Smart, a prevention initiative by the Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County.

Berks County received $453,462 for enhancing adult probation and parole services and $354,782 for victim and witness support through the District Attorney’s office. Funding was also allocated to bolster the Children’s Advocacy Center’s operational needs.

This funding, sourced from a combination of state and federal programs, spotlights the critical need to invest in victims’ services and criminal justice reform. Through these grants, counties will be better equipped to address both the immediate needs of victims and the long-term challenges of ensuring fair and effective probation systems. Sen. Muth emphasized her commitment to advocating for resources that benefit families and individuals across the region.
