WEST CHESTER, PAState Representative Chris Pielli has announced the allocation of a $500,000 grant to Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve, located in East Bradford Township. This funding, secured through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), will support key construction activities at the preserve, enhancing its accessibility and amenities.

The Stroud Preserve project involves a series of vital developments aimed at maintaining and improving the area’s natural environment. These include site preparation, demolition activities, and the construction of critical infrastructure such as bridges and new bathroom facilities. Additionally, the project will address flood mitigation needs and involve paving work to ensure safe and sustainable access for visitors.

Emphasizing the importance of the initiative, Rep. Pielli stated, “Preserving the natural beauty of West Chester is critical. I am extremely grateful that through the advocacy of Sen. Comitta and myself, state funds have come through to make this important project financially feasible, so that all who live in and travel to East Bradford Township can experience this great natural beauty here in the 156th Legislative District.”

The RACP is a Pennsylvania state grant program designed to support projects that have notable regional impact, including economic, cultural, and recreational developments. This funding is intended for projects that cannot secure primary financial support through other state avenues, thereby fostering improvements that contribute to regional economic vitality and community well-being.

The development of Stroud Preserve through these funds is poised to enhance the ecological and recreational landscape of the area, offering both residents and visitors an enriched experience of the region’s natural heritage.
