WEST CHESTER, PA — The Fund for Women and Girls, a renowned advocate for social impact and empowerment, has announced an enlightening Zoom luncheon on November 16, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon, titled “Empowering Voices: Addressing Disparities in Maternal Health for Women and Birthing People of Color through Advocacy and Action,” aims to uplift voices, inspire civic engagement, and bring about meaningful change.
This event is not just another discussion; it’s a clarion call for action, a reflective space, and an opportunity to make a significant impact. The Fund invites the public, especially women in Chester County, to join the luncheon and help empower change and elevate awareness about maternal health disparities affecting women and birthing people of color.
Cheryl Miles of Black Women of Chester County in Action and Alma Vidal, Director of Programs for Maternal Child Health Consortium, will shed light on the pressing issues, challenges, and needs faced by women and birthing people of color in accessing quality healthcare during pregnancy and post-partum.
Additionally, Talonda Rogers, RN, of The 4th Trimester MAHMEE and Portia Nichelle of Covenant Lives Healing Heart Agency will share their inspiring journeys and discuss their call to action. They will delve into their efforts to address these disparities and improve maternal health outcomes.
