KENNETT SQUARE, PA — It’s time for women to put themselves first and prioritize their wellness. Co-founder Sarah Nurry succinctly captures the essence of the upcoming EmpowHer Women’s Wellness Retreat set to take place on April 28 at the luminous Kennett Library, situated in the heart of Kennett Square.
The EmpowHer event, described by co-founder Kara Gibbons as “a truly transformative sisterhood,” is more than just a retreat. It is an invitation for women to engage with their wellness while forming lasting insights, and embracing a collective energy of love and support.
A dynamic and diverse lineup of over 35 educators and thought leaders, each an expert in their own field, promises an extraordinary day of rejuvenation, education, empowerment, and connection. It is a day tailor-made for women by women. An array of wellness sessions covering health and fitness, finance, personal development, mindfulness, creative expression, and more, allow attendees to seek clarity, inspiration, and fresh perspectives.
Previous attendees have found this event to be empowering, motivating, and inspirational, solidifying an incredible sense of solidarity among women. Kennett Square local, Susana Hall, fondly recalls the EmpowHer event in 2019, and is thrilled to return in a new capacity as an Educator focusing on a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
Co-creator Sarah Nurry, inspired by the sisterhood she experienced at a City Fit Girls event in Philadelphia, wanted to create that same powerful, tangible energy in Kennett and Chester County. At EmpowHer, attendees will be immersed in a community of women who rally, cheer, and celebrate each other’s individual journeys.
Every ticket to EmpowHer includes a nourishing breakfast and an organic salad bar lunch, as well as a journal and EmpowHer shirt. Participants end the day with a closing ceremony and a fun mocktail hour! A variety of sessions and Q&A discussion panels delve into topics like menopause, cognitive health, colon health, aging skin, and nutrition.
The line-up of educators and experts is exceptional. Four-time Emmy Award-winning Telemundo62 Weather Anchor, Janet Bolivar, passionately supports women in STEM fields. Claire Gill, CEO of Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation, founded and launched the National Menopause Foundation. Dr. Kathryn Ellis, an occupational therapist and a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, works with women to strengthen their relationship with their bodies, desires, and pleasure.
In addition to their commitment to women’s wellness, the EmpowHer retreat also supports local nonprofit initiatives. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to Unite for Her, a regional nonprofit assisting local women diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer. Additionally, feminine products will be collected and donated to Kennett Area Community Services (KACS).
As April 28 draws near, be ready to embrace the power of sisterhood, wellness education, and collective empowerment. This event is more than just about connecting with others; it’s about exploring a deeper connection with yourself. A day of true transformation awaits at the EmpowHer Women’s Wellness Retreat.
