WEST CHESTER, PA — The Fund for Women and Girls, a beacon of support for Chester County’s women and girls, has officially opened nominations for its esteemed Kitchen Table Award. The award is a tribute to the exceptional women in the community who have used their talents, time, and resources to effect significant change for women and girls.
Named as a nod to the Fund’s origins—conversations around kitchen tables about addressing the needs of local women and girls—the Kitchen Table Award celebrates the undying spirit of these women. It recognizes those who have left an indelible mark on the community’s fabric through their substantial contributions.
The award offers residents a unique opportunity. It invites them to nominate a woman in their life who, they believe, embodies a true commitment to ensuring that Chester County’s women, girls, and their families have the resources and opportunities needed to flourish.
The honor is more than a simple accolade. It is a testament to the power of individual action, the impact of dedication, and the importance of local involvement. It serves as a reminder that each person’s contributions, no matter how small they may seem, can lead to profound and lasting changes.
The 2024 Kitchen Table Honoree will be unveiled at the Fund’s 19th Annual Making a Difference Luncheon on Friday, May 3, 2024. This event will follow in the footsteps of previous years, which saw remarkable women like Loretta Perna (2023) and Matrie Johnson (2022) receive the award.
Nominations are evaluated for three consecutive years, providing ample opportunity for worthy candidates to receive the recognition they deserve. To participate, community members must submit their nominations by Friday, January 26, 2024.
The Fund for Women and Girls’ Kitchen Table Award puts a spotlight on the unsung heroines of Chester County, celebrating their contributions and inspiring others to follow suit. As nominations open, the anticipation builds for who will join the ranks of these extraordinary women in 2024.
