WEST CHESTER, PA — In a spirited show of community collaboration, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) recently led an early holiday initiative, dubbed ‘Warm Up for Winter,’ aimed at providing assistance to Thistle Hills, the county’s sole residential program for women survivors of human trafficking.

The CCSO, in a joint effort with WSFS Bank and the Westtown-Goshen Rotary Club, rallied to provide donations aimed at fulfilling the basic need for heat at Thistle Hills. This initiative underscores the community’s commitment to protect and assist women who have endured immense hardships and are on the path to recovery and self-sufficiency.

“Transformation from exploitation and trauma to self-sufficiency in freedom is a long process,” commented the Rev. Sherry Deets, founder of Thistle Hills. “It takes time to recover physically, psychologically, and spiritually. The path to survivors’ security, homes and jobs begins with the most fundamental services and fulfilled needs, including safe shelter with lights and heat. So we are very grateful to these donors.”

This heartwarming project successfully raised more than $2,000 for the nonprofit organization Thistle Hills. These funds will play a crucial role in helping Thistle Hills continue its vital work in supporting survivors of human trafficking during the challenging winter months.

Those interested in contributing to this cause can make a donation by visiting the Thistle Hills website. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of these brave women as they rebuild their lives and work towards a brighter future.
