CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Saint Elizabeth Parish hosts its 13th Stewardship Day of Service on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Preparations are underway at Saint Elizabeth Parish in Chester Springs for another parish-wide Stewardship Day of Service on Saturday, April 12. In addition to their regular Saturday event, they are offering a weekday service option for parishioners to serve in the community. Over 100 parishioners of all ages will spend the day helping local organizations. Prior to the event, area agencies worked with the planning team to identify work projects. Parish volunteers will head to each site to complete the work which includes spring planting and clean up, painting, packing and sorting of donations, cleaning, and much more.
Each year, the day begins with Mass at Saint Elizabeth Church at 8:30 a.m. followed by a light breakfast and brief meeting to explain work assignments. Volunteers will put on their matching colorful t-shirts and then head out in teams to various locations in the Chester County area to take on half-day and full-day work projects. Some of the sites receiving volunteer help this year include The Lord’s Pantry, CYWA (Community Youth and Women’s Alliance), West Chester Senior Center, Partners in Outreach, Friends of West Chester, and a number of other agencies.
Anne Tymon, Stewardship Day of Service Planning Team Chair, reports: “This service event gives our parishioners an opportunity to provide outreach to the community and make a meaningful difference.” Matthew Pfeiffenberger, Parish Services Director at Saint Elizabeth, notes: “The Parish Mission Statement affirms: … by the conviction of our words, the goodness of our deeds and the witness of our lives, we will reflect the presence of Jesus living within us…. Our Stewardship Day of Service provides parishioners of all ages the opportunity to demonstrate this conviction and to work with one another as we serve others in need in the greater community.”
