WEST CHESTER, PA — The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has awarded the Belmont Childcare Association, Inc. (BCCA) a grant of $10,000 to bolster its early childhood education program. The BCCA serves the children of parents working in the Thoroughbred racing backstretch area at New York’s historic Belmont Park, Aqueduct Racetrack, and Saratoga Racecourse.

BCCA aims to provide a safe, supportive, and academically stimulating environment for these children. Over the past five years, TERF has consistently supported BCCA, with funds directed toward its early childhood education initiatives. The 2024 funding will further enhance BCCA’s program, which incorporates a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) curriculum. This approach prepares students for elementary school while fostering physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

TERF’s ongoing support aligns with its mission to promote equine education and public knowledge on horse care. The foundation, established by Herb and Ellen Moelis, is guided by a board that includes co-chairs Kathleen Anderson, DVM, and James Orsini, DVM, along with other notable members.

This funding highlightsTERF’s commitment to educational excellence and community support within the Thoroughbred racing industry.
