GREATER PHILADELPHIA AREA – The Wardrobe is extending a helping hand to the reentry community this month, offering free attire to individuals currently or formerly involved with the justice system. This initiative aims to eliminate clothing insecurity and empower people as they rebuild their lives.
On Thursday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., participants can visit one of The Wardrobe’s four locations for free clothing and additional community resources. The event, known as Open Wardrobe, will take place at:
- 62 W. Marshall Rd., Upper Darby, PA
- 413 N. 4th St., Philadelphia, PA
- Kennett Square, 345 Scarlett Road
- Exton Square Mall, 2nd floor near Boscov’s

The Wardrobe is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to eliminating clothing insecurity, reducing fashion waste, and providing support for those in need. Each year, approximately 6,000 people benefit from The Wardrobe’s services, leaving with newfound confidence and stylish outfits suitable for work or daily life.
Participants at Open Wardrobe receive STAR Treatment – Styling, Time, Advice, and Respect – ensuring they leave feeling empowered and ready to succeed. This event is part of The Wardrobe’s broader effort to support individuals recovering from trauma, incarceration, or homelessness, as well as those seeking affirming clothing for their gender identity or starting new careers.
The Wardrobe locations in Philadelphia and Upper Darby are open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for shopping and client appointments. The Kennett Square and Exton Square Mall locations are open Tuesday through Thursday during the same hours. Clothing donations are accepted during open hours.
