CHESTER COUNTY, PA — In a heartfelt celebration at Fox Rothschild’s Exton office, Christopher J. Pippett was recently honored by Habitat for Humanity of Chester County for completing his 100th home closing, providing legal services pro bono for more than two decades. This milestone event, attended by Pippett’s family, friends, and colleagues, commemorated his enduring commitment to assisting families in achieving the dream of homeownership.
For 22 years, Pippett, co-chair of the Financial Services Industry Practice at Fox Rothschild, has dedicated his expertise to Habitat for Humanity, serving on the organization’s board of directors for 12 of those years. His contributions have been pivotal in Habitat’s mission to break the cycle of poverty through affordable homeownership. “Chris has been a dedicated leader for Habitat for over 20 years,” noted Chris Wiseman, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, emphasizing Pippett’s role in both individual home settlements and the broader growth of the program.
Pippett’s tenure on the board, including a term as president, saw the acquisition of significant properties contributing to community expansion—namely, the 46-home Cambria development in Coatesville and the 40-home Fuller Meadows neighborhood in West Grove. These projects have profoundly impacted Chester County, offering many families affordable housing options and the stability that comes with homeownership.
Stepping down from the board at the end of his term in 2023, Pippett continues to support Habitat for Humanity as an active volunteer and donor. Reflecting on his experience, Pippett describes his involvement as “a labor of love,” driven by a deep belief in Habitat’s mission and its capacity to unite volunteers from diverse backgrounds in community service.
Pippett’s story is more than a personal achievement; it highlights the essential role of pro bono work in addressing critical societal needs. His dedication sheds light on the ongoing challenges many Americans face in securing affordable housing—a situation exacerbated by economic pressures and rising real estate prices. Habitat for Humanity’s efforts in Chester County, supported by volunteers like Pippett, underscore the power of community and the impact of collective action in making homeownership accessible to those who might otherwise be excluded from the American Dream due to financial constraints.
Since its inception in 1989, Habitat for Humanity of Chester County has built 179 homes, each representing a step toward alleviating housing insecurity. The organization’s success is testament to the synergy between visionary leadership, volunteer dedication, and community support. Pippett’s milestone, while a significant personal accomplishment, serves as a beacon of hope and a call to action for others to contribute to meaningful change within their communities.
