GREATER PHILADELPHIA AREA — Women across Southeastern Pennsylvania are invited to participate in Open Wardrobe Smart & Sexy® Day on Thursday, March 27. This empowering event, held across five locations in Philadelphia, Upper Darby, Chester, Exton, and Kennett Square, offers free bras, professional and casual clothing, and workshops designed to boost confidence and support career development.
Organized by The Wardrobe in partnership with the Alliance of Career Development Nonprofits (ACDN), the event celebrates Women’s History Month with resources to inspire women’s success. Attendees can receive free bra fittings, bras donated by Smart & Sexy®, and clothing to help them prepare for job interviews, workplaces, and beyond.
This year’s National Smart & Sexy Day theme, “The Power of And,” highlights the boundless potential of women’s achievements. It celebrates how women can simultaneously embody leadership, innovation, caregiving, and creativity, encouraging them to reclaim their multifaceted identities.
Panel Discussion and Workshops
The Philadelphia location will host a “Power of And” Panel Discussion, focusing on identity and confidence. Speakers such as independent artists, community directors, and advocacy managers will explore how women can authentically express themselves in modern society while navigating the evolving definition of womanhood.
At the Exton Mall location, the Your Wallet 101 workshop, led by Brett Goldman, will provide women with essential financial skills. Topics like budgeting, credit cards, insurance, and taxes will be covered, helping participants build financial literacy and confidence in managing their resources.
Empowerment Through Clothing and Confidence
Launched in 2012 by ACDN, Smart & Sexy Day© aligns with the organization’s mission to empower individuals transitioning toward economic independence. Through professional clothing, training, and coaching, member agencies have supported over 300,000 people, providing them with the tools needed to make strong first impressions in the workplace.
Each year, ACDN members assist more than 25,000 individuals by offering resources aimed at lifting job seekers out of poverty and supporting their workplace success. By combining practical resources with educational programming, this event fosters greater self-assurance, making women feel confident and employable.
Women are encouraged to RSVP online and attend one of the five locations to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their self-confidence and career prospects.
