MALVERN, PA — Chester County residents are invited to don their sequins, flared pants, and suede shoes for a night of celebration and empowerment at the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County‘s annual Love is Love Gala. Held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, this year’s theme, “Boogie and Bling: A Disco Ball,” promises a vibrant homage to the 1970s disco era while supporting vital programming and resources for the LGBTQ+ community.

The gala is the Equality Alliance’s most important fundraising event of the year. Funds raised will support its ongoing mission of fostering safe spaces, delivering meaningful programming, and creating opportunities for connection throughout Chester County. The event aims to offer attendees a night full of joy while shining a light on the importance of LGBTQ+ visibility and community solidarity.

A Night of Disco Magic

The evening’s festivities will transport guests back to the golden age of disco, a time when resilience and joy flourished in LGBTQ+ clubs across the country. Attendees will enjoy entertainment by a live DJ, high-energy go-go dancers, and captivating performances by drag artists Roxanne Rohls and Ophelia Hotass. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest 70s-inspired attire to fully immerse themselves in the theme.

“The Disco Era is such a pivotal moment in gay culture, as it allowed for vibrancy and joy to grow in LGBTQ+ clubs of the 70s,” said Carrie Stare, President of the Equality Alliance’s Board. “Many popular disco songs promoted resilience and empowerment — themes we are embracing in 2025 as our community faces uncertainty of the political landscape.”
