THORNDALE, PA — Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center has announced Herr Foods Inc. as the recipient of the 2025 Best Friend Award, an annual honor recognizing outstanding service, commitment, and dedication to supporting the nonprofit’s mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through meaningful work opportunities.
“Handi-Crafters is thrilled to celebrate incredible partnerships through our Best Friend Award,” said April Ennis-Pierson, Executive Director of Handi-Crafters. “Herr Foods has been an exceptional partner. Not only do our program participants love Herr’s Snacks, but they also take great pride in contributing to the brand through our co-packing projects. Herr Foods exemplifies the kind of support that helps us make a lasting impact.”
Herr Foods Inc., a family-owned and operated snack food manufacturer headquartered in Nottingham, Pennsylvania, is known for producing a wide range of popular snacks, including chips, pretzels, and popcorn. Deeply rooted in the community, the company has collaborated with Handi-Crafters since 2014, during which time the nonprofit has packaged over 2.5 million snack items for Herr Foods.

The Best Friend Award will be formally presented at Handi-Crafters’ Annual Spring Benefit Evening, taking place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, and presented by Bentley Systems. During the event, Habitat for Humanity ReStores will also be honored with the Community Partner Award, celebrating their contributions to Handi-Crafters’ impact.
