PARKESBURG, PA — The Parkesburg Borough Police Department has announced the arrest of a Yardley woman in connection with an alleged fraudulent scheme and firearms violations that occurred last month.

On February 19, 2024, police responded to a business on West First Avenue following a 9-1-1 hang-up. At the location, officers encountered 42-year-old Candice Clymire and her boyfriend, Christopher Baxter. Baxter allegedly attempted to use counterfeit documents for payment at the business.

Baxter was subsequently taken into custody on an unrelated warrant and transported to the Chester County Prison. Further investigation led to the execution of a search warrant on Baxter’s vehicle, where police reportedly found a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence allegedly linked to fraud.

Police confirmed that the recovered handgun had been previously reported as stolen from Ephrata Borough. During the investigation, Clymire’s involvement in the alleged crimes became apparent.

Clymire was arrested at her residence in Yardley, Pennsylvania, on February 29, 2024, and transported to the Chester County Prison. She now faces charges including conspiracy to commit fraud, firearms violations, drug possession, receiving stolen property, and related offenses. A preliminary hearing regarding these charges will be scheduled at the Parkesburg District Court.
