Woman Charged with Assaulting Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department announced the arrest of a 52-year-old woman on assault charges.

Shannon Hurley has been charged with the Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer in the First Degree, Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, and 3 counts of Harassment.

The criminal complaint alleges that on July 18, 2023, the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department was dispatched to the 1400 Block of Morstein Road,  East Goshen Township for a disturbance.  During the course of the investigation, officers were able to speak with two residents who advised police that they had been assaulted.  The victims displayed physical injuries consistent with the assault and Shannon Hurley was identified as the perpetrator.

During her apprehension, Hurley allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer.
