WILMINGTON, DE — Police have arrested a Wilmington man on a gun charge after a traffic stop conducted by the Wilmington Police Department‘s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division on February 6.
At approximately 10:39 a.m., officers observed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations in the 300 block of West 7th Street. The vehicle was subsequently stopped in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue, where officers made contact with the driver, identified as 45-year-old Andre Patrick.
During the investigation, police recovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun, which was confirmed to have been reported stolen. Patrick was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with receiving a stolen firearm in addition to several traffic violations.
Following his arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Patrick was released after posting $3,100 cash-only bail.
Authorities remind the public that all allegations remain under investigation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
