Wilmington Police Arrest Two Juveniles, Recover Stolen Vehicle

WILMINGTON, DE — Two male juveniles were taken into custody early Tuesday morning in connection with a stolen vehicle observed by Wilmington Police.

On March 12, around 2:00 a.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division encountered the stolen vehicle in the 500 block of West 4th Street. When police attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled the area. Shortly afterward, the vehicle was located near West 9th and Monroe Streets. Two male subjects fled on foot but were apprehended after a brief pursuit.

Authorities identified the juveniles as a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old. The 15-year-old is facing charges including receiving stolen property valued over $1,500 and resisting arrest, in addition to traffic violations. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $3,000 unsecured bail. The 16-year-old has been charged with resisting arrest and remains in custody at the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center pending further proceedings..
