Wilmington Police Arrest Man Following Alleged Shots Fired Incident

WILMINGTON, DE — Authorities have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with an alleged shots fired incident on Morrow Street last week.

The Wilmington Police Department reported that, on the evening of December 19, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers with the Uniformed Services Division and Canine Unit responded to the 800 block of Morrow Street after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police encountered Marcus Hamilton, 43, who was taken into custody without incident.

During their investigation, officers discovered that Hamilton was allegedly in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun at the time of his arrest. He now faces two charges, including carrying a concealed deadly weapon and discharging a firearm on a city street.

Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Hamilton was released on $3,500 unsecured bail.

Officials stress that all charges are allegations, and Hamilton is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
