Wilmington Man Arrested on Firearm Allegation

WILMINGTON, DE — In a recent operation conducted by the Wilmington Police Department, a local man has been charged with a gun-related offense. The incident occurred on November 10 at approximately 12:10 p.m., when officers from the Uniformed Services Division noticed a male subject exhibiting suspicious behavior in the vicinity of West 6th and North Monroe Streets.

Upon approaching the individual, identified as 54-year-old Darrell Beaman, police conducted a search and reportedly discovered a loaded 5.7x28mm handgun in his possession. Beaman was subsequently taken into custody without any reported resistance.

Following his arrest, Beaman was formally charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, where he was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Authorities have underlined that the charge is an allegation, and Beaman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. As investigations continue, further developments may arise.
