WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man faces burglary and firearm-related charges following his arrest on April 22, as part of an ongoing investigation by the Wilmington Police Department. Authorities have identified the suspect as 47-year-old Jomar Brown.
The investigation began on April 14, when officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to a reported burglary in the 900 block of North French Street at approximately 1:00 p.m. The case was subsequently assigned to Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division, who worked to establish key details surrounding the incident.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective O’Connor identified Brown as a suspect in the alleged burglary and secured warrants for his arrest. On April 22, officers located Brown in the 300 block of East 9th Street. Authorities confirmed that Brown was taken into custody without incident.
Brown now faces multiple charges in connection with the case, including the following:
- Burglary (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Theft of a Firearm
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
Following his arrest, Brown was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20. He is currently being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $13,000 cash-only bail.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that the charges remain allegations, and Brown, like all suspects, is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
