Wilmington Man Arrested in Drug Investigation

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing drug-related charges after being taken into custody by police during an investigation into alleged illegal narcotics activity.

On January 16, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., members of the Wilmington Police Department’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division observed activity indicative of suspected drug transactions in the 100 block of North Dupont Street. Officers made contact with 29-year-old Donnell Gill, who was subsequently arrested without incident.

Authorities have reported that Gill was found in possession of 4 grams of crack cocaine and .45 grams of heroin at the time of his arrest. He has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Following his arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Gill was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution while awaiting further proceedings.

Police have emphasized that all charges are allegations, and Gill is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
