WILMINGTON, DE — A 28-year-old man has been charged with multiple burglary offenses following an investigation by the Wilmington Police Department‘s Criminal Investigations Division.

The investigation stemmed from multiple incidents reported in 2024. On February 21 and March 8, officers responded to the 1800 block of North Dupont Street regarding burglary allegations. A third incident occurred on April 16 in the unit block of Rockford Road, prompting additional police response.

Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division led the inquiry into these cases. Through his efforts, 28-year-old Lawrence Bracy was identified as a suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest. Bracy was apprehended on May 15, 2024, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on an unrelated matter. He was extradited to Delaware on March 5, 2025, to face charges.

Bracy has been charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of theft over $1,500, and two counts of theft under $1,500.

He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,000 cash-only bail.

Officials remind the public that the charges are allegations, and Bracy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
