KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department has confirmed the arrest of Dwight Dean, 40, of Wilmington, Delaware, in connection with an alleged violation of a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order. Dean is facing one count of indirect criminal contempt as a result of the reported incident.
The sequence of events began on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at approximately 4:49 PM, when officers at the Kennett Square police station received a report of a PFA violation. Following a swift investigation into the claim, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Dwight Dean.
By the following day, February 21, 2025, Dean turned himself in to law enforcement officials to face the indirect criminal contempt charges. The alleged violation is believed to have occurred in the 600 block of S. Broad Street in Kennett Square, where police first initiated their investigation.
This matter is now awaiting further legal proceedings, with a hearing on the indirect criminal contempt charge scheduled for later this week. The hearing will determine whether the allegations constitute a breach of the existing protective order.
Kennett Square authorities stress that charges, including the one brought against Dean, are based on allegations. Any suspect or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
