WEST CHESTER, PA — A Paoli woman has been assaulted following a harassment investigation, announced the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department.
The criminal complaint alleges that on September 12, 2023, the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department received a walk-in complaint regarding harassment. The ensuing investigation led to charges being filed against a Paoli resident, Kathrine Ann Paprocka.
Paprocka, a 36-year-old female, is facing serious allegations including two counts of Identity Theft. Additionally, she has been charged with one count of False Reports of Child Abuse and one count of Harassment for communicating repeatedly in an anonymous manner.
Identity theft is a severe offense and involves the deliberate use of another individual’s identifying information, usually as a method to gain a financial advantage or obtain credit and other benefits in the other person’s name. The charges indicate that Paprocka allegedly used this tactic not once, but twice.
These charges are compounded by a count of False Reports of Child Abuse, an offense that involves making an untrue statement or report about the abuse or neglect of a child. This charge suggests a misuse of critical child protection services and resources.
The final charge, Harassment – Communicates Repeatedly in an Anonymous Manner, is indicative of Paprocka allegedly engaging in persistent and unwanted communication, further contributing to the gravity of the accusations leveled against her.
Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
