WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department (WEGOPD) is seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a recent package theft. The incident took place on Carrie Lane, Westtown Township, where several Amazon packages were reported missing.

According to WEGOPD, the report of the stolen packages was received on November 17, 2023. A Ring Doorbell camera at the victim’s residence captured an image of the alleged thief on November 14th at 1:49 PM. The suspect is described as a light-skinned male in his 20s. He was seen wearing a black hat and a gray shirt with the word “Pentair” printed across the chest.

The police department is urging residents in the area who have surveillance cameras to check for any suspicious activity around the time of the incident. They are also appealing to anyone who can assist in identifying the person in the image to come forward.

Residents who can provide information about the case or the suspect are asked to contact Detective David Hale at 610-692-9600 extension 216 or via email at dhale@wegopd.org. Alternatively, they can reach out to Sergeant James Renegar at jrenegar@wegopd.org.

This incident serves as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant, especially during the holiday season when package deliveries are more frequent. The police department recommends that residents consider scheduling deliveries when someone is home, requesting signature confirmation, or having packages delivered to a secure location.

The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Information is subject to change at any time as additional details may emerge. Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
