West Chester Resident Arrested for Aggravated Assault on Hannum Avenue

WEST CHESTER, PA — A local man has been arrested by the West Chester Police Department (WCPD) on assault charges.

The criminal complaint alleges that on September 28, 2023, at around 1:00 PM, the West Chester Police Department responded to an assault report in the rear of the 400 block of Hannum Avenue. The victim was found with physical injuries that necessitated immediate medical attention.

The ensuing investigation identified the alleged attacker as Roderick Strickland, a 52-year-old resident of West Chester, Pennsylvania. Strickland was subsequently apprehended, processed, and transported to Chester County Prison for arraignment.

Strickland now faces charges including aggravated assault and harassment, among other related offenses.

The preliminary hearing for this case is pending at District Court 15-1-01. Further details about the incident and the charges will be disclosed during the court proceedings.
