West Chester Police Charge Coatesville Man with Assault Following July Incident

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester police have arrested a man in connection with an assault that occurred in July 2023. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Javon Sampson of Coatesville, PA, was taken into custody on August 23, 2023.

The incident in question took place in the early hours of July 16, 2023, at approximately 2:30 AM. West Chester police officers were dispatched to the intersection of High and Gay Streets following reports of a fight. Upon their arrival, they encountered a male victim bearing visible signs of injury. The victim reported he had been assaulted by an unknown male or males.

Following a thorough investigation, the West Chester Police Department identified Javon Sampson as an alleged perpetrator. Sampson has since been charged with Simple Assault and Harassment.

The details surrounding the circumstances of the assault remain unclear. However, authorities have confirmed that a preliminary hearing is pending.
